Died: Art Lozano was a Southern California Gas employee for over thirty years. He worked in Transmission’s old South Basin division at the Montebello Compressor Station for much of his career. Services are Monday Aug. 16th, at 10:00am at the Mountain View mortuary, 570 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, Calif. 92404. Phone number (909) 882-2943.
Died: Edna Schumaker (also know as Edwina McCormick) a retiree from San Fernando Valley, Woodland Hills office passed away several years ago. The Gas News announced her death as Edwina McCormik, her actual and married name, but not the name she was known by at the Gas Company. This information comes to us from Beverly Foote who wanted all those who cared about her to know of her passing.
Died: Bernadette M. Castillo Aziz passed away Saturday, July 17th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bernadette (Bernie) worked in the Measurement, Regulation & Control (MRC) group for the past 15 years where she made many friends with her warm smile and great attitude. She was, at times, like a sister and a mother to fellow MRC employees. Her life was one of serving others (including the Company) first. Her battle with her illness and how she handled that challenge was an inspiration to many. She is now in the Lords hands; and may he take care of her, without pain or worry. A service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park, located at 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601. It is scheduled for Friday, July 23, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at the MEMORIAL CHAPEL Gate 1 (up the main road - Follow blue line painted along curb). Following is burial and reception at Rose Hills.
Died: Richard E. Jones passed away June 5 at his home he, was 89 years old.  Richard was Storeroom Supervisor of Southern Counties' El Monte headquarters and retired in 1976 after 29 years of service.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church in Pomona, located at 1751 N. Died: Bob O'Connell passed away, he worked on Distribution staff and in Distribution at The Whittier Base. His funeral mass will be at St Boniface Catholic Church at 120 North Janss street in Anaheim on Friday July 9th at 4:00 PM. The service will be at The All Souls Cemetery at 4400 Cherry Avenue in Long Beach at 10:00 AM on Saturday. The phone number to contact Bob's family is (714) 774-1375, please ask for his son Dennis.

On-Line Forum:  Hi All. Changes to the on-line forum have been made. We have tightened up the sign in process as the site has been hit almost daily with bogus folks who add their non-SoCalGas information into our forum. From now on folks that want to register for the forum must go through us. Sorry but its the only way we know to stop bogus people into the forum.
New Retiree Club: Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area will be meeting at the Breakfast Nook Restaurant in Rathdrum, Hwy 53. Our Sept. mtg. had four guys show up, Jim Wall, Len McLean, Dick Aune & Jack Osborne.
